Variation of the Urban Population in Chile, by Category of Entity: 1970-1982
Abstract
The chilean population has had an important varÍLItionduring the 1940-1952. By this time the urban population becomes predominant. and in 1982 is higher than 82%. It is of great importance to understand the variation that ocurred between the census 1970 and 1982 in the different urban categories: cities. towns. and villages, in the national and regionallevels. This information is relevant to establish the behaviour of the population in the number of settlements and the volume of people that live in them.
