Abstract

The relations between the Holy See and Chile are not governed, so far, by a “concordat” or formal agreements, unlike in Spain. However, actual cooperation between the State and the Catholic Church does exist in some matters. The main objective of this article is to offer a first approach to the differences and similarities between the cooperation with and without concordat in Spain and Chile, respectively. The general framework of the relations between the Holy See and both states is posed, even though a further development of it will be published as a continuation of this work.
